In this case, the American Lighting Engineering Association (IES) stated that it is conducting intensive studies on the color of LED lighting in order to make drivers and pedestrians safer at night.
Shirley Coyle, chairman of the American Lighting Engineering Association, said that even if the actual problem is related to poor lighting design or poor lighting design, it seems that some parties will only blame the lighting color. Shirley Coyle pointed out that some people criticize the color temperature of outdoor lighting for disrupting the circadian rhythm, ignoring other important aspects such as light intensity, light source irradiation time and period.
She stated that customers’ personal preferences may vary depending on the application. Usually, in the community, warm-colored street lamps with a temperature of 3000K will be selected, and roads and roads will be selected with a 4000K lamp.
In addition to choosing the color temperature that is right for customers and applications, it is also important to use well-designed, glare-reducing luminaires. Another important task is to ensure that lighting design meets IES minimum standards to limit light intrusion and meet customer requirements.
